Living at Tamar House

Central to your life at Tamar House is your room. All of our residents have their own single room which is their own private space.

Your room will be furnished with curtains, a bed, and an easy chair if you wish. All rooms have built-in wardrobe space, and you are welcome to personalise your room with your own items of furniture and personal belongings.

You will be provided with your own bedroom door key, and your room will be equipped with an emergency call bell so that you can summon assistance from a member of staff at any time.

All but two of our rooms have en-suite toilets (with the remaining two having toilets just outside). All toilets and bathrooms are fully accessible, with aids and adaptions fitted to make them as easy to use as possible.

All rooms have television points and you are welcome to bring your own television and radio. Residents over 75 may be eligible for a free TV licence. Rooms also have telephone points and you can have your own telephone line installed if you wish. The care home does have a telephone that you can use in private.

We have a team of housekeeping staff who will clean your room and the rest of the home. We will provide you with towels and bed linen but you may use your own if you choose. We will also do all of your laundry for you (with the exception of dry cleaning, the cost of which would need to be met by the individual resident).

When not in your room, you will have access to the large open lounge on the ground floor which is lovely and bright and looks directly into the garden. Next to this lounge is our communal dining room, another bright and comfortable space where we serve lunch and tea. There is a further smaller lounge on the first floor.

We have a dedicated team of housekeepers who keep all our residents rooms and communal areas clean. We also provide a linen and laundry service.
