A Message from our manager
Care Home Manager
We understand that choosing a residential care home for yourself or a loved one can be a real worry. Be reassured that at Abbeyfield we are dedicated to providing outstanding care by employing well-trained, permanent staff and by treating all our residents as individuals - in a homely, family environment.
As an independent charity, our sole purpose is your care and wellbeing. Abbeyfield Tamar is different from many other care homes … it really does feel like being part of a family, where everybody is cared for cheerfully, yet with respect.
We’ve been providing first class care for over thirty years with an experienced team who provide genuine 24/7 personal care to our 28 residents.
I started my career as a care assistant in 2009 and gained 10 years of experience in care, three of which were as a registered manager.
I have been through several CQC inspections and on each report, gained an overall ‘good’.
By working my way upwards through the many aspects of care, that has given me the motivation that I still have today.
I’m a manager who is very involved and works with passion and a desire to help improve quality of life.
I also love to encourage and empower the staff team, seeing how this impacts everyone who uses the service.
Coming to work for me feels like coming home.
Tamar House is a lovely environment with a very homely atmosphere.
The residents and colleagues are just like one big family.
